About Us
Block & Blade is a locally owned and operated restaurant in the south end of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Since opening in March of 2020, we aim to create a space where people can come together, whether it's for a casual night out, a celebration, or time spent with friends and family.
Our kitchen is chef-led, focusing on quality ingredients and in-house preparation, ensuring every dish is crafted with care. To keep things fresh, we update our menu twice a year, maintaining our guests' favourite dishes while introducing exciting new creations each spring and fall.
We love being a part of Winnipeg’s vibrant food scene, taking part in local food competitions where our kitchen team has the chance to get creative and showcase new dishes. These competitions inspire us and allow us to test new ideas that might make it onto our seasonal menu.

Fried Chicken Fest Winner! 2026
Plum Chicken & Mash Bowl - Crispy Karrage chicken tossed in chili flakes and plum sauce, served over creamy mashed potatoes with sautéed onions, red peppers, cabbage, fresh apple and cucumber slices. Topped with peanuts, green onions, radishes, and crispy wontons.

We were honoured to receive the Judges’ Top Choice award for 1st place and 1st place for creativity! Crispy Japanese Karaage chicken bits tossed in a house-made sweet sesame aioli, green onions, radishes, pickled onions, diced cucumbers, topped with pecans and chilli flakes, served on 3 crispy nori & rice paper shells.

Between the Buns 3rd Place! 2024
Featuring Block’s Bécha Melt- 6 oz house made beef patty, Black Forest ham, pickles, Havarti cheese, house made Japanese mustard, crispy onion tanglers, drizzled with a balsamic glaze. Served on a toasted béchamel focaccia bun, and garnished with chives.

The Tipsy 'Toban - Award Winning! Dill fries layered with caramelized Whiskey onions, candied maple bacon, Bothwell fried cheese curds, smothered in TransCanada Arrow IPA Jus, and garnished with green onions.

Taco & Margarita Week Winner! 2021
Taco & Margarita Week hit Winnipeg in August 2021. We featured our signature Blackened Fish Tacos and a new Ginger Pomegranate Margarita. We were proud that our Ginger Pomegranate Margarita ended up winning 1st Place in Margarita Week!
